To support Belgian soccer's sustainability ambitions, the Pro League and media partner Eleven Sports are partnering up with MG. The British-Chinese carmaker shares a passion for innovation and brings an important contribution to a greener fleet.
Since entering the market in 2019, MG has been making great strides in the European market. The carmaker pairs innovation and sleek design with durability and affordability. With those arguments, MG managed to convince major soccer brands such as FC Liverpool and Olympique Lyon, as well as consumers.
With success, since the innovative car brand tripled its sales figures in the last years. Before that, MG leaned on just two budget-friendly cars: a plug-in hybrid SUV (EHS) and an all-electric car (ZS EV). Since then, the manufacturer also launched the luxurious Marvel R Electric.
Last year, MG reinforced its status as an innovative car brand with the introduction of the MG 5 Electric. That unique and high-tech model will be Europe's first all-electric station wagon, allowing MG to also power the more spacious and practical family car with green energy.
Sharing concerns for future generations, Pro League endorses MG's efforts to reduce CO2 emissions. Sustainable development will henceforth play a central role in the partnerships.
Leander Monbaliu, Chief Business Officer of the Pro League: "The Pro League aspires to distinguish itself through innovation, as we do for example in our partnership with Eleven Sports. We consciously choose innovative partners. The Pro League is therefore proud to call MG its official car partner. MG also contributes to a cleaner fleet and thus cleaner air. This is important for that other cornerstone of Belgian soccer: the footballers of the future."
Catherine Free, Head of Sales & Marketing MG Belux: "Sustainability is central to MG. Our brand is therefore fully committed to new technologies that take into account the ecological footprint. The partnership with Pro League and Eleven is logical for us as MG Europe also focuses on soccer in terms of sponsorship. MG will be responsible for the entire fleet of the new partners and is satisfied that the Pro League and Eleven are clearly pulling the green card."
Guillaume Collard, CEO of Eleven Sports: "As the Pro League's exclusive media partner, we initiate and support innovative partnerships. The partnership with MG fits perfectly into this ambition for innovation. For any company, including within the media, it is a challenge to subscribe to a strategy around sustainable development. This is why we are particularly pleased, together with the Pro League, to enter into this partnership with MG."
